Implementation extension to BMC

The Maharashtra legislature on Wednesday passed a Bill granting extension to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to begin implementing the capital value-based evaluation of property tax from April 2013 after they finish work on it. The decision to implement capital value instead of the rateable value was accepted by the government in 2010 through an ordinance. Since the move has not been granted approval by the BMC House,it is pending implementation.
