The Bombay High Court Thursday quashed a non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued by a magistrate court against actor Preity Zinta. The warrant had been issued after Zinta failed to appear in the lower court on several occasion in a bounced cheque case filed by scriptwriter Abbas Tyrewala.“The court cannot be oblivious of the fact that till today, the exemption application by the applicant (Zinta) has not been decided,” said Justice S S Jadhav.“However, issuance of NBW would by itself mean that the exemption application filed for the day has been rejected,” the judge said and directed the magistrate court to decide Zinta’s applications within three weeks.
