Former loan recovery agent behind bars for stealing bikes

A former loan recovery agent was arrested by the Dadar police late on Monday for stealing motorbikes.

A former loan recovery agent was arrested by the Dadar police late on Monday for stealing motorbikes. Shailendra Shivalkar (25) was arrested for driving rashly in an inebriated condition.

According to the police,during interrogation Shivalkar revealed that after he lost his job,he along with four accomplices stole motorbikes and made money by either selling the bike or its parts.

“Shivalkar used to work as a loan recovery agent with a nationalised bank a few months back and as a part of his job he was required to seize vehicles from loan defaulters. He has the skills of a mechanic and knows how to start bikes by fusing the wires together. After losing his job,he decided to use his skills to steal bikes for quick money and had roped in his friends. The four others have been identified as Samir Parab (21),Kiran Kadam (23),Umesh Rathod (21) and Aditya Gawde (21). We have arrested all five of them but are yet to make any recoveries,” said police sub-inspector Ravi Vichare of the Dadar police station.
