Luv Sinha on reviving his father’s production house and learnings from his debut film.

Luv Sinha has been covering lost ground,reading new scripts and meeting directors and actors. The actor,son of Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha and brother to Sonakshi,says,“Anyone with a good script can just drop it off at my doorstep.” He’s all set to revive his father’s old production house,Shotgun Movies. Mera Dil Leke Dekho has been the only film from the production house so far. “We wanted to form an establishment that makes good movies,” says the 29-year old actor-producer. The house has roped in director Umesh Shukla of OMG: Oh My God! fame for a thriller,which will star Luv as the lead and will begin shooting early next year.

Luv’s debut film Sadiyaan failed to create any impression,but the movie has been a learning for him. Explaining the differences with its director Raj Kanwar,he says,“One needs to be careful with a new actor and understand how to bring out the best in him,without misleading him,which unfortunately didn’t happen,” says Luv. “But I’ve learnt from my mistakes and since I am the co-producer for the next movie,I won’t let that happen.”

Luv’s biggest inspiration is his father. “He is a self-made man. There was no place for him in the film industry when he got there. He overcame the odds and carved a niche for himself,” says Luv. He also admires Sonakshi’s work. While she got critics to notice her in Lootera,he is proud of her work in Dabangg,Rowdy Rathore and Son of Sardaar. “She’s done a lot of commercial films,and we’re proud of it. After all,we’re a commercial film family,” he says and hopes that she can be a part of Shotgun Movies too.

Other than Shukla’s film,Luv also has an Ekta Kapoor film in the pipeline.
