Actress Sadhana, who got into a dispute with a real estate developer in connection with the redevelopment of a 3,000 sq feet house in Santacruz, has been summoned by a local magistrate court. The summons is in connection with a private complaint filed by builder Yusuf Lakdawala for making defamatory statements against him alleging that he had threatened the actress.
Alleging that Lakdawala had threatened her on several occasions,Sadhana has last August lodged a complaint with the Santacruz police. Following the complaint,Lakdawala was arrested in November and let off on bail a day later.
Soon after his release, the builder had approached the Bandra metropolitan magistrate claiming he has been falsely implicated and defamed by Sadhana. A private complaint was filed by Lakdawala and the Magistrate has sought for the police to probe into the allegations made by Lakdawala and have directed the police to submit a report, said Lakdawalas lawyer Vibhav Krishna.
The police, after verifying mobile phone data and tracing location of both Sadhana and Lakdawalas phones, submitted a report stating that the complaint filed by the actress appeared to be false. Sadhanas statement will be recorded now after the court went through the report compiled by the police, added Krishna.
The 68-year-old actress resides on the ground floor of a two-storey bungalow Sangeeta with her niece and servants. The bungalow is owned by singer Asha Bhosale.
