Ex NCP MLA Milind Kamble’s driver arrested for firing at guard

The Mumbai Police crime branch on Friday arrested the driver of former legislator Milind Kamble for allegedly using the NCP leader’s licensed firearm to shoot four rounds at a security guard at a construction site in Chunnabhatti.
Mangesh Waghmare, the accused, told police that security guard Anil Bhise, who was also working for Kamble, would harass him and wanted to kill him. While Bhise survived the attack and is recuperating in hospital, Waghmare was arrested on charges of attempt to murder.
The incident took place around 3.30 pm near Pragati society in Kurla east when Waghmare, who lives in Kasaiwada area of Kurla , took the licensed firearm of Kamble kept in the vehicle, an officer said. Waghmare then fired four rounds at Bhise. The latter was rushed to Rajawadi hospital where, after preliminary treatment, he was said to be out of danger.
