DNA tests have failed to establish any connection between the serial killer allegedly responsible for the murders of minors in Nehru Nagar in 2010 and the case in which two girls bodies were found at a secluded spot in Nariman Point, investigators told Newsline on Tuesday. The police had initially said they would look at the possibility of the Nehru Nagar serial killer being responsible for the two murders at Nariman Point as well.
The two girls Karishma Chavan and Jagruti Patel both aged around three years, were found dead near the Nariman Point Fire Brigade Depot.
The police also matched the DNA samples with those of Nehru Nagar locals, which were taken after the murders in 2010. There is no match there either, the officer said.
Meanwhile, the Cuffe Parade Police have asked for DNA tests of Mohan Yadav (32),who was arrested last Thursday for allegedly trying to kidnap a three-year-old girl from the area.
