Constable kills self in Mahim

A 36-year-old constable attached to Dharavi police station allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his Mahim residence on Tuesday.

A 36-year-old constable attached to Dharavi police station allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his Mahim residence on Tuesday. The police found a note from his residence which said he committed suicide as he could not do enough for his wife and children. “Rajesh Aanerao had not reported for duty for the last three months. His father,a retired policeman, came to Mumbai from his village after he got to know that Aanerao has stopped going to work. He was supposed to take Aanerao to the police station on Tuesday,” said Senior Inspector Ramrao Desai from Mahim police station. “On Tuesday,Aanerao told his father to go ahead and said he would follow him. After his father left,Aanerao hanged himself from a ceiling fan,” said Desai. “The suicide note says that no one is responsible for his death. He said he wanted to do a lot for his wife, children and father, but was unable to do so. His wife told us that she did not see any suicidal tendencies in Aanerao.” Desai added.
