Murder suspect says cops made him sign blank sheet

Mumbai: Shaikh Akhtar Allah Rakha,one of the nine arrested for the murder of Sayyed Chand Madar,has moved a plea before the Special MCOCA court alleging police forcibly took his signature on a blank paper and produced him at the deputy police commissioner’s office against his will. “He fears police will come up with a fake confessional statement,” said Akhtar’s lawyer Mubin Solkar.

No bullet injury on Shaikh,states yet another report

Mumbai: Chintu Shaikh’s cheek injury was not a bullet wound,the JJ Hospital medical report to the Crime Branch says. Earlier,the LH Hirandani Hospital,too,had said the same. Shaikh,the president of the transport wing of Nitesh Rane’s NGO Swabhimaan,had alleged Rane fired at him on September 23.

Filing of chargesheet in diamond heist today

Mumbai: The chargesheet against four foreign nationals,held in Dubai for the diamond heist in Mumbai,will be filed on Saturday. “We will file the chargesheet. The jacket in which diamonds were hidden and was being couriered to Rome has been sent for DNA analysis. A match has been found with a woman arrested in the case,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy.

WR staff detain Rajdhani

Mumbai: Western Railway (WR) staff on Friday detained the Rajdhani Express for 20 minutes over various issues including promotion. The train was allowed to leave at 4.55 pm after WR administration threatened them with termination from service. Ajay Singh of WR Majdoor Sangh said,“There are many issues. We took the step as nobody listened.”
