ATS arrests ‘serial’ hoax caller

The state ATS,the Protection Branch and the Bomb Squad swung into action after a caller repeatedly warned of terror attacks at iconic landmarks and CM’s assassination. The ATS zeroed in on the hoax caller,Santosh Babar,a 23-year-old courier boy from Bhandup and unearthed a tale of revenge.

The first call was made on February 4,when he alerted a cop in the control room that a man named Vishnu Kamble will blow up the Dadar station. The police searched every nook and corner of the station. The second call on February 14 claimed two Sewree residents,Vishnu Kamble and Suman Ghanjawala,will blow up Dadar railway station,Gateway of India,Khala Ghoda and University of Mumbai. The cops again swung into action and searched all locations.

The third call on February 24 was more specific: “Two agents from Pakistan have arrived in Dadar and they were speaking with Kamble on phone,planning the CM’s assassination.”

Rakesh Maria,Additional Director General (ATS) said,“We then tracked Sewree resident Kamble,a vegetable vendor. He revealed that he had reprimanded Babar for stalking his niece. He did all this for revenge.”
