Chopda leads the charge

Maharastra No. 1,16-year-old Sagar Chopda,representing Mumbai Suburban here,romped into the mens singles fourth round of the 2nd Maharashtra Senior State Selection Badminton Tournament

Maharastra No. 1,16-year-old Sagar Chopda,representing Mumbai Suburban here,romped into the mens singles fourth round of the 2nd Maharashtra Senior State Selection Badminton Tournament,being hosted by the Khar Gymkhana under the aegis of the Maharashtra Badminton Association on Wednesday.

Chopda,who trains under Mangirish Palekar at the Shuttle Craze Academy,took less than half-hour to dispose off Mumbai Suburbans Tejas Dhayalkar 21-8,21-8. In the fourth round,he will now meet Thanes Shrishail Mitkari,who beat Nagpurs Jayendra Dhole 21-11,21-18.

Mumbai Suburbans Amey Joshi and Sanket Shirbhate too progressed to the fourth round,along with Solapurs Shripad Pardeshi.
