X-ray technician who filmed woman held

MUMBAI: After being on the run for two days,Ansar Sheikh (28),who allegedly filmed women in the changing room at his Mulund-based clinic,was arrested Saturday and remanded in police custody till Monday by a court. Following a tip-off,we picked up Sheikh from a dargah in Khindipada area and placed him under arrest, said Mulund police inspector Ashok Mansukh.

Om Puri gets bail

Mumbai: Actor Om Puri,whose wife Nandita had accused him of assaulting her,was Saturday granted bail in the case at the Versova police station. Earlier in the day,the actor withdrew the anticipatory bail plea he had filed in a court early this week after the police informed the court that the charges against him were bailable.

Doc gets RI for accepting bribe

MUMBAI: A special Anti corruption Bureau (ACB) court Saturday sentenced a 29-year-old doctor from GT hospital to two years of rigorous imprisonment for accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 in 2011. Aditya Sadavarte had promised a patient undergoing treatment at the hospital,to bring down his medical bill if he paid a bribe.

Chain-snatcher held

MUMBAI: A chain-snatcher who was fleeing after allegedly targetting a senior citizen was nabbed by traffic police constables in Dadar Saturday. Police said Azam Khan,(21),snatched the gold chain when she was returing from a temple.
