BEST buses collide,17 hurt

Two best buses collided on Monday morning at Malad,leaving 17 passengers injured.

The buses were on the Linking Road in Malad (west). When one of the buses suddenly applied brake,the other one rammed into it from behind, said an officer of the Bangur Nagar police station.

The injured passengers were rushed to the Bhagwati Hospital in Borivali for treatment. The police officer said Dattatray More,the driver of the bus that rammed into the other,has been arrested for rash and negligent driving.

A week ago,a BEST bus had met with an accident after it rammed into a dumper truck in Borivali (west). According to the police,the bus that was going from Poisar towards Dahisar rammed into the truck when the truck driver applied brakes suddenly. As many as 12 passengers in the bus had suffered injuries.
