Bakery LPG blast: Two arrested for supplying cylinders

Two persons were arrested by the Trombay police on Saturday for allegedly supplying LPG cylinders illegally to the bakery,where a blast occurred on Wednesday. The two have been identified as Sandhil Devar (33) and Laxman Davre (32). The police had earlier arrested the bakery owner Mohammad Ikrar Idris Ansari (40). All the arrested persons have been booked under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Senior inspector Sanjay Khire said,“The accused have been charged for their role in the incident. We are also probing child labour angle. More arrests cannot be ruled out in the case.”

BEST bus rams into divider,damaged

A BEST bus that runs on 205 route from Jogeshwari to Malad rammed into a divider in western Mumbai near Kandivali police station around 7.30 am on Saturday. Police said the bus may have skidded over a pothole and hit the divider.

“The bus had five passengers at the time and was moving towards Malad. No one suffered injuries in the accident. Since it was early in the morning,the bus was not crowded,” said a police officer. The officer said that the bus was damaged in the accident. “The front portion of the bus has been damaged. We were called to the spot and we went and conducted a panchnama of the place,” the officer said.
