CCTV footage helps police nab ATM card robber

The Azad Maidan police on Saturday arrested a 27-year-old for using a stolen credit card to make purchases worth Rs 30,000. Chembur resident Aruna Bansode had filed a complaint after her wallet containing her debit card went missing on Friday. After contacting bank authorities,Bansode was told that her card was used to make purchase worth Rs 30,000 at a shop in Lower Parel. The police obtained Nisha Kurtadkars pictures from the CCTV footage provided by the shop. The police arrested her when she came back to exchange the clothes she had bought.

Hasan Ali in ED custody

The Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act court on Monday permitted the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to interrogate multi-crore tax evasion accused Hasan Ali Khan and his alleged aide Kashinath Tapuriah and handed over their custody to the investigating agency for two days. The ED needs to further interrogate Ali as the case demands a few more details, ED counsel Ujjwal Nikam told the court.

19-yr-old dies of malaria

A 19-year-old died due to malaria at JJ Hospital on Sunday. The labourer from Bihar had come to the city two months back to work in a leather manufacturing unit.
