The water in the six lakes supplying water to Mumbai crossed 13 lakh million litres Saturday evening. The total water content in the lakes on Saturday stood at 13.01 lakh million litres,against 9.49 lakh on the same day last year.

Lake level crosses 13-lakh mark

Mumbai: The water in the six lakes supplying water to Mumbai crossed 13 lakh million litres Saturday evening. The total water content in the lakes on Saturday stood at 13.01 lakh million litres,against 9.49 lakh on the same day last year. Of the six lakes,four — Tulsi,Modak Sagar,Tansa and Vihar — have started overflowing. Bhatsa and Upper Vaitarna are a metre short of full mark. The BMC had in August lifted the cut for a month.

15 winners at IIT innovation fair

Mumbai: The India Innovation Initiative (i3) 2010 Regional Fair was held at,IIT,Powai,Friday. The i3 is a forum for “sensitising,encouraging and promoting innovators,and facilitating commercialisation of innovations.”

There were 50 participants. Most of the 15 winners,who will take part in the national fair,based innovations on environmental or health.
