Union minister Anurag Thakur attends first meeting of Mumbai BJP’s Lok Sabha poll committee

The core group also held meetings and reviewed updates from the MPs, MLAs, district presidents and general secretaries of the constituencies.

The first meeting of the Mumbai BJP’ newly formed Lok Sabha election steering committee was held in the presence of Union minister Anurag Thakur and under the chairmanship of the city unit’s president, Ashish Shelar, on Wednesday.

“The Modi government has undertaken various development works in the country. Efforts are underway to take these development works to the people at the grassroots level. For that, a review of all the Lok Sabha constituencies is being undertaken,” Shelar said.

The party has exuded confidence about winning all the six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai under a mission titled Mahavijay 2024.

Maharashtra minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, MPs Gopal Shetty and Manoj Kotak, election committee coordinator MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar, MLC Pravin Darekar, and BJP MLAs and office-bearers were also present at the meeting.

Meetings with all the members of the steering committee and other key office-bearers of the six Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies in Mumbai are being held, BJP leaders said. Emphasis is being laid on building the organisational structure. Also, efforts are being made to empower the booth committees and to make the party’s initiatives more comprehensive and successful, they added.

The core group of the committee also held meetings and reviewed updates from the MPs, MLAs, district presidents and general secretaries (organisation) of the constituencies.

The BJP office-bearers, MPs and MLAs who took part in the meetings had brought tiffin from their homes and enjoyed the meals in the presence of Anurag Thakur, the Union information and broadcasting minister, party sources said.
