Aide of MLA Dhas booked over video of assault held from UP

An FIR was was registered against Bhosle on March 5 after a video surfaced on social media in which he is purportedly seen beating up a person with a bat. Later, it came to light that the incident had taken place last year.

Beed police Wednesday arrested Satish Bhosle alias Khokya, an aide of BJP MLA Suresh Dhas, from Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj after he was booked in multiple cases including the one over a video in which Bhosle is seen purportedly beating a person with a bat.
Bhosle, who on Instagram identifies himself as secretary of BJP’s Maharashtra state Adivasi sanghatna, was on the run after four FIRs were registered against him in the past week.

SP Beed Navneet Kanwat said, “We had been on the lookout for him and had been tracking his location. Finally, with the help of UP police, we nabbed him today. Our team got a transit remand and are getting him to Beed.”

An FIR was was registered against Bhosle on March 5 after a video surfaced on social media in which he is purportedly seen beating up a person with a bat. Later, it came to light that the incident had taken place last year.

Following this, an attempt to murder case was also lodged after Bhosle along with others allegedly assaulted a father-son duo last month.

Police had also registered a case under the NDPS Act when they allegedly found narcotic substances at his residence during a raid.
The fourth FIR filed against him over the last week is being probed by the forest department as some animal bones too were found at his residence, an officer said.

Earlier, Dhas said Bhosle was his party worker and that action should be taken against him if he is involved in wrongdoing.

The arrest came close in the heels of the arrest of Walmik Karad for the alleged murder of Beed sarpanch that led to the resignation of NCP leader Dhananjay Munde from the cabinet. MLA Dhas had pursued the case against him vigorously.
