Accreditation for wellness centres by Jan 7

In a bid to make India a medical and wellness tourism hotspot,the Quality Council of India has decided to introduce an accreditation system for all wellness centres across the country by January 7.

In a bid to make India a medical and wellness tourism hotspot,the Quality Council of India (QCI) has decided to introduce an accreditation system for all wellness centres across the country by January 7. It is also in a process of formulating guidelines for accrediting small nursing homes.

“All wellness centres will get QCI accreditation. A board displaying the services that come under the preview of accreditation will be put up at these centres. But the centres for cosmetic and beauty purposes will be excluded. Ayurveda,Yoga,Naturopathy,Unani,Siddha and Homoeopathy (Ayush) clinics will also get accreditation,” said Dr Girdhar Gyani,secretary general,QCI.
