A think tank to take on terror,through technology

“Even six months after 26/11 security steps have not been given adequate importance. Everyone has been blaming each other and there is lack of concrete work. We decided to make the way forward and start something that will look into this seriously,” said Vijay Mukhi,a noted security expert and chairperson of MSTT. “We will be talking about various technologies but not of products. We will see what other countries are doing and try to adapt that here. The focus will be on the corporate sector.” added Mukhi.

 They will periodically release documents analysing the security in various sectors. They will also point out deficiencies in security practices and act as an independent sounding board for the press and others.

MSTT further intends to create the first ever security architecture for Maharashtra. “We will actually pin down roles of all sections of the society. No such document exists on security for a state. Our inferences and analysis will point glaring holes in the security we use today without fear or favour,” said Mukhi.

MSTT will also have eminent people such as N Vitthal,the Ex Central Vigilance Commissioner and others on board. Tapping the reach of the internet,MSTT will create an interactive beta website within 60 days and the first draft will be available on the Micro website in 30 days.
