Three persons were killed and five injured after a speeding car rammed into a stationary tempo carrying members of two families on their way to attend a marriage at Worli in Mumbai on Sunday. Vadgaon Maval police said Pawar and Kamble families from Koregaon Taluka in Satara had halted near Taje village on Pune-Mumbai expressway when a speeding sedan rammed into the tempo from behind, seriously injuring persons standing outside the tempo and sitting in it.
Three of the injured succumbed to injuries during treatment.
The victims have been identified as Babasaheb Yashwant Pawar (55), Sadhana Nityanand Kamble (45) and her son Atish Kamble (16).
