25-year-old man commits suicide

A 25-year-old man committed suicide at his Siddharth Nagar residence in Worli on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Vinayak Durgavale. Durgavale resided with his family in a chawl in Siddharth Nagar. While neighbours claimed he took the step after a fight between his father and his uncle,the police said he committed suicide due to depression. “His father and uncle are both members of different political parties. Durgavale who saw them fight after the election results were declared went inside the room of their apartment and hanged himself,” a neighbour said. Durgavale was rushed to Nair Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The police have registered an accidental death report. “We do not suspect any foul play. No suicide note was found,” police said.
