Two pedestrians,including a senior citizen,were killed in two accidents in the city since Sunday. While one accident took place on the S V Road in Vile Parle (West) on Sunday,the other occurred near Swami Vikekanand Municipal Lake in Bandra (West) on Monday.
A 65-year-old man was killed after an autorickshaw ran him over in Vile Parle on Sunday.
The rickshaw rammed into Laxmichand Dedia. The vehicle was headed towards Andheri when the accident took place. While Dedia succumbed to injuries shortly after the incident,we nabbed the driver, said an officer at Juhu police station. The driver has been identified as Asgar Khan.
In the second accident,a 35-year-old security guard was killed around 7 am on Monday after a private bus rammed into him while he was walking towards the Bandra Railway Station to catch a train back home after finishing his shift.
A bus driven by Yogesh Yadav rammed into Mritunjay Singh. Singh was rushed to Bhabha Hospital,but succumbed to injuries. Yadav was later arrested and has been booked, said an officer at Bandra police station.
