17 foreign nationals booked for visa violation
Police said that they did not arrest the accused as it is not a major offence. Police did not confiscate passports of the accused but have informed the Special Branch (2) of the Mumbai Police, who will get in touch with their embassies for further action.

A complaint was received by the Dahisar police against the foreign nationals from a film union. Acting on the complaint, a police team from Dahisar went to the studio and found the 17 nationals shooting for a serial. Of the 17, 10 were women and seven were men and are residents of different countries like the UK, US, Australia among others.
THE DAHISAR police booked 17 foreign nationals for allegedly violating visa rules after they took part in a shooting for a serial in a studio in Dahisar (east) on Friday evening last week.
A complaint was received by the Dahisar police against the foreign nationals from a film union. Acting on the complaint, a police team from Dahisar went to the studio and found the 17 nationals shooting for a serial. Of the 17, 10 were women and seven were men and are residents of different countries like the UK, US, Australia among others.
“None of them had work visas pertaining to this particular project hence action was taken,” said an officer from Dahisar police station. They were booked under Section 14 (A) (penalty for entry in restricted areas) of the Foreigners Act.
Police said that they did not arrest the accused as it is not a major offence. Police did not confiscate passports of the accused but have informed the Special Branch (2) of the Mumbai Police, who will get in touch with their embassies for further action.
Dahisar police, however, will serve notice to the accused to record their statements and will be filing a chargesheet against them in court.
