1 killed,2 hurt in building collapse

One person died and two were injured when part of a wall of an under construction building in Parel collapsed on them. While Mohhammad Mustaf Shaikh,27,was declared dead on arrival at KEM Hospital,Mohhammad Mujamal Shaikh (27 years) and Mohhammad Jasmit Shaikh (23 years) have been admitted to KEM for treatment.

The mishap occurred around 5 pm inAmbedkar Colony. “There is an under-construction building in Ambedkar Colony,near Manohar Decorators’. A part of a compound wall gave way and collapsed on the construction workers who got trapped in the debris,” said a civic official. It took the fire brigade over two hours to rescue the injured from the debris,said a fire officer.

“In case there is faulty construction work,it will be investigated by the BMC’s building construction department. Also in case the safety measures are not abided by,thecivic administration can give the developer notice for the same.”
