Two students arrested on murder charges

The police have arrested two persons who were wanted in connection with a firing incident outside the court complex in January last year that had left one person dead.

Two groups,who had earlier clashed over college presidentship,spilled their rivalry outside the court complex when one group fired at the other leaving one dead and another seriously injured.

SSP H S Chahal said Gurpreet Singh alias Lehmber and Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi had been arrested. The police had recently arrested one Rinku in the same case. The police had booked six people on murder charges. Those booked included Jaspinder Singh Malhi,Gurpreet Singh alias Lehmeber,Gurteg Singh alias Deepa,Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi,Satinder Singh alians Nikku and Rinku. The dispute broke out last year on the issue of presidentship of the students union at LLR DAV College in Jagraon.
