Two major road projects get nod

The Punjab government has approved the repair of the stretch between Sahnewal to Kohara road — a long pending demand of the residents of Sahnewal.

The four-km road will be repaired at a cost of Rs 1.80 crore. According to an official release,work is likely to start in mid-June and be completed within two months. The road was last repaired in 2005

Meanwhile,the Punjab Infrastructure Development Board has sanctioned a new road in the stretch from Ludhiana-Chandigarh road to Sahnewal airport — totalling a length of 3.65 km — to be built at a cost of Rs 3.20 crore.

The tendering process has been initiated by city PWD (B&R) and the project is expected to be completed within eight months.
