After courses in RJing, here’s an all-new one in radio station management

A good voice might have been a prerogative for a successful career in the booming radio industry but looks like that might no longer hold true. “There’s more to a radio station than just an RJ,” tells the man who has in the last couple of years helped youngsters in the region look at a career in radio seriously. After dishing out courses for RJing at his radio jockey training institute,Academy of Broadcasting,CEO and founder Hardeep Singh Chandpuri has rolled out a brand new one-year diploma course in radio station operations and management. “This course comes after inputs from the industry that highlighted the need for such a comprehensive module. The best part about this diploma course will be that the students will get a chance to intern in a radio station and also go on-air,” explains Chandpuri. The new course,he informs, will cover all the aspects of the radio industry ranging from creative to marketing, management to technical. “A radio station runs like a drama being staged where there’s enough action both on and off the stage,” Chandpuri adds whose academy has been on a roll with aggressive expansion plans. “As of today we have 23 franchisees spread across the country,” the Academy’s vice president Anil Jinsi pitches in with further info. The Academy is now planning on opening two company-owned branches in Mohali and Panchkula very soon to cater to the demand of the local students there.
