Ludhiana MP and the National Spokesperson of the Indian National Congress Manish Tewari on Sunday said that the Punjab Bachao Yatra being led by the PCC President Capt Amarinder Singh and the party incharge Gulchain Singh Charak from Talwandi Sabo on November 1 will mark the beginning of the end for the Akali-BJP regime in the state.
Addressing a meeting of the District Congress Committee Ludhiana Urban here today,Tewari asked the Akali-BJP alliance to get ready for their exit.
The MP asked the workers to maintain discipline and ensure that Congress forms the government in the state in the interest of the future of Punjab.
Todays meeting was attended among others by the Ludhiana coordinator Jagmohan Singh Kang,DCC Ludhiana (urban) president Pawan Dewan and rural president Milkiat Singh Dakha.
Addressing the meeting Kang said that the Congress in the state had already geared up to bring Congress back to power under the leadership of Capt Amarinder Singh.
Speaking on the occasion Pawan Dewan lashed out at the Akali-BJP governments extravagance by paying Rs 4 crore to Shahrukh Khan for performing at the inauguration of the Kabbadi World Cup. He said that the real match will be held in February when the Congress under the leadership of Capt Amarinder Singh will defeat the Akalis and throw them out.
