RS Model’s boy wins inter-school singing contest

Ankush Sharma of R S Model Senior Secondary School,Shastri Nagar,won the Inter-school Singing competition organised by the Shakti Education Mission at Nehru Sidhant Kendra here on Sunday. Studnets from different schools who participated in the competition sang sangs,which were composed by themselves,on female foeticide. Aanand Murti Guru Maa was also present at the function.

The winners were given away cash awards along with shields. The results are as follows:Ankush Sharma of R S Model Senior Secondary School,Shastri Nagar,first,Kumar Sharma of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School,Shastri Nagar,second; and Kusum of BVM Senior Secondary School Udham Singh Nagar,third.

While these students were given away the cash awards of Rs 1,5000,Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively,the remaining seven contestents were also given away a cash prize of Rs 1,000 each for participation.The first three winners will now get a chance to sing for an audio cassette of Mystica Musical company. Shakti is an initiative to empower girl child and a wake up call to combat the henious practices of female foeticide,infanticide,dowry menace and brutalities affilicted on the girl child.
