PSPCL pitches for making payments through its app

To reduce the long queues outside billing centres,the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited is making people aware of its mobile and Facebook apps

To reduce the long queues outside billing centres,the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) is making people aware of its mobile and Facebook apps. Though the facility was introduced more than six months back,so far only 7,100 users have utilised this service through which bills worth Rs 4 crore have been paid.

Surinder Pal,director (commercial),PSPCL,said: “So far,about 6,500 consumers have downloaded this app from Google play store,and it works on mobile as well.”

According to Pal,payment can also be made through PSPCL’s website,and 75,000 consumers have already used this facility. About 14 lakh page views have been done per month. Payment on website can be made on https://epayment.pspcl.com while through WAP in mobile,it can be done on https://m.pspcpl.com. One can also visit PSPCL’s

Facebook page. A single window system by the department has also been created and so far about 125 online applications have come for various services.
