If for a while we think as to what we really need in a mobile phone, then the answer is simple a user friendly approach,a good memory,a camera, long battery life and the bluetooth service. For something that can come for as little as Rs 3,000,do we really need to spend over Rs 15,000 for it, asks Hari Om Rai as he launches the all-new range of LAVA phones along with partners Sunil Bhalla and Shailendra Nath Rai. On offer are three models – KKT 1,KKT 11 and KKT 22. While KKT 11 and KKT 22 come with a dual SIM feature, all the models have a 1.8 inch screen and 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery which gives a talk time of 12 hours and a standby time of 30 days. Prices start at Rs 2,599. We are looking at national presence and so the emphasis is on Indias tier I, Rai tells us the plan is to upgrade the current low-end basic mobile handset users to a feature-loaded alternative.
With features like dual LED powerful torch, camera, games,Bluetooth, support up to 8 GB memory,FM radio and recording, one touch music player, dual stereo speakers, dual charging point,GPRS and speakerphone,we are looking at capturing a part of the market where nearly eight million handsets are sold every month, chips in Bhalla,as sales and marketing head Praveen Srivastava adds,LAVA is looking at capturing a major market share in Punjab,Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
