Park panel members left high and dry

About 15 Park Management Committee members who went to meet Mayor Hakam Singh Giaspura on Friday at Mayor’s camp office left the office in a huff after the latter failed to show up at the appointed hour.

About 15 Park Management Committee (PMC) members who went to meet Mayor Hakam Singh Giaspura on Friday at Mayor’s camp office left the office in a huff after the latter failed to show up at the appointed hour.

PMC members were called to the Mayor’s camp office by Giaspura at 9 a.m,but when the members reached there they were told to go to the Mayor’s party office at Sherpur Chowk to meet him.

The members however refused to go to Sherpur Chowk saying that Mayor should know the value of time.

S.S Chana, president of Park Management Committee (PMC) Federation, said,“After sitting in the Mayor’s camp office for a few minutes,I asked his personal assitant about the Mayor’s availability. He made me talk to the Mayor who told all of us to come at Sherpur chowk. But none of us wanted to go to the other end of the city to meet him.”

Chana said,“We are helping the MC to make the city green and Mayor should have held the meeting where he had called. If he had no time to come to the camp office,he should not have invited us in the first place. A few members also had pending dues, which the MC had not yet cleared and they wanted to talk to the Mayor.”

Nearly 15 members left the camp office in a huff saying that next time, the Mayor should do his homework well beofore inviting them for a meeting. The Mayor could not be contacted for his comment despite repeated attempts.
