Police contest kins claim that he died of gunshot wound sustained during clash
The death of one Amir Hassan,a resident of Maraj Nagar Uttar Pradesh, who was living in Prem Nagar has put the Ludhiana police in a tizzy.
The police came to know about the death of this person when the family brought the deceaseds body home for cremation. The police is still trying to ascertain whether Hassan is victim of migrant-police clash that took place on December 3 and 4.
The SP,City 2,Sneh Deep Sharma, when contacted, informed,As per the records of the Civil Hospital,Hassan was admitted in the hospital on December 7 and he died on December 8. The report given by the hospital doctors says that he died of some kind of infection.
However the family of the deceased claims that Hassan had a gunshot wound,a theory that the police is not ready to buy. For as per the rules, any hospital where a person comes in with a gunshot wound, the doctors have to immediately inform the police. The civil hospital sent us no such message. Moreover,a post-mortem is must in a gunshot wound, which again has not been done by the doctors of the civil hospital.
Sharma added,We are now getting a post-mortem done on the body to rule out all doubts of the family and picture will become clear once the report comes in. The cause of infection, whether it was some kind of injuries inflicted during the clash or whether Hassan was suffering from some prior disease would also become clear.
Meanwhile,as the police went to Prem Nagar for collecting Hassans body, another migrant,Naresh, appeared before the police claiming that he had been hit by a bullet during the clash. Joginder Singh,DSP,Industrial Area, when contacted informed,We took Naresh to the hospital and the doctor told us that the wounds on his feet are not any kind of gun shots but wounds inflicted by some stone. We have arranged medical aid for him also and to clear his doubts,an X-ray will be conducted on him tomorrow morning.
