Lecture held on urinary tract infection

Dr William Bhatti,Head of the Department of Paediatric Surgery,said that urinary tract infection was a common and serious problem faced by children that often necessiated their hospitalisation. If urinary tract infection was not diagnosed properly it could lead to permanent loss of kidney function,he said.

There are several causes of urinary tract infections in children,either medical or surgical,therefore it is necessary to identify the exact cause for proper treatment. The Department of Paediatric Surgery,Christian Medical College,Ludhiana,organised a lecture on urinary tract infections in children by Prof Sudipta Sen. He is the head of Paediatric Surgery at Christian Medical College,Vellore.

Paediatricians,paediatric surgeons,urologists and general physicians attended the lecture.
