3 colonisers get jail for unuthorised construction
Taking a strict action against unauthorised colonisers,the court of additional chief judicial magistrate has awarded a sentence of 3 years and a fine of Rs 5,000 to Anoop Gupta,Amit Kumar and Subash Chander for raising unauthorised colony in Bhamian Kalan on Chandigarh road. According to a press release issued by Indu Sharma,additional chief administrator of the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority,the accused had not taken licence as required under the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act,1995.

NCC Day celebrated
Master Tara Singh College celebrated NCC Day with patriotic zeal on the campus on Saturday. Lt. Col S Sehgal commanding officer 3 Punjab Girls’ Battalion,NCC,Ludhiana,was the chief guest at the event. The NCC cadets presented a cultural programme with Jyoti Bala and Priya honoured with best cadets awards. Principal Dr Parveen Kaur Chawla encouraged the efforts of cadets and assistant NCC officer. Tributes were paid to those who laid their lives in the terrorist attack in Hotel Taj in Mumbai last year.

Tributes paid to martyrs
Ludhiana Medical Practioners Association paid tributes to the martyrs of Mumbai attack by lighting up candles. People present at the event said the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go waste.
