u’s death condoled
The Communist Party of India,Ludhiana district,on Monday expressed its shock at the demise of Comrade Jyoti Basu. The members said that he remained undisputed leader of West Bengal for a record period of time. Kartar Singh Bowani,Arun Mitra,O.P Mehta and many others were present in the meeting. Lok Bhalai Party chief Balwant Singh Ramoowalia also condoled the death. Punjab state committee of MCPI(U) has also mourned the sad demise of the leader.

District Youth Congress meeting held
A meeting of District Youth Congress was held on Monday,in which entry forms were distributed under “Aam admi ka sipahi progrramme.” Dimple Rana,president of District Youth Congress,said,”In every ward,10 persons are being registered under this progrramme as per Rahul Gandhi’s instructions.” These members will held spread awareness about female foeticide,de-addiction etc.

Gill elected bar association president
KHANNA: Elections to the Bar Association here were held on January 15 in which Shamsher Singh Gill (Sirthala) was elected as the president . He defeated Shamsher Singh Gill (Rattanheri). Harjinder Singh was elected as vice-president. He defeated Kulwinder Singh. Sarabjit Singh Kang became secretary by defeating Puneet Jaggi. The other elected members were: Varinderpal Sahota,joint secretary,Abhishek Pal Singh,finance secretary,K.K Sharma and M.L Tandon,executive members.
