Annual prize distribution function held
Guru Nanak Girls College,Model Town,organised its annual function here on Saturday. Justice Kamaljit Singh Garewal (retd), Judge,United Nations Appeals Tribunal,was the chief guest on the occasion. He urged the students to face the challenges of life with determination,hard work and vision to succeed against all odds. Stressing upon the need to pay special attention to women’s education,Justice Garewal said educated girls could shoulder the social responsibility in a better way. Kamal Nain Singh Trustee of Guru Nanak Education Trust was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. College Principal Dr Charanjit Mahal highlighted the achievements of the College in the Annual Report.

Doctors found absent from duty
A S Gujral,Secretary,Zila Parishad,on Saturday visited dispensaries in Baddowal,Bhoondari,Rakba and Pandori and found doctors absent from duty. Gujral said,”Strict action will be taken against the erring doctors as per rules.”

Gurpurab celebrated
Students of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School,Doraha,celebrated Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh with religious fervour. Students from Class I to X participated in this celebration.

On this occasion,a presentation based on the life of Sri Guru Gobind Singh was also shown. Prizes were distributed among Gurbani Kanth competition,and Shabad Gyan Competition winners by the school management.

Annual sports day held at Ryan school
Ryan International School organised the annual athletic sports day on Saturday. Jagir Nahar District Sports Officer was the chief guest on the occasion. Newton House won the overall trophy. The students displayed their skills in various events. Gurpreet Kaur Sandhu,the school principal,appreciated the efforts of students and staff.
