Police seize 90 kg of ganja
The Focal Point police has nabbed three people and have recovered 90 kgs of ganja from the accused. DSP,Industrial area,Devinder Singh while addressing the mediapersons,said,“We had a secret information about these peddlers and we nabbed them near the Fish Market last evening. During questioning these people led us to the catche.” Those arrested include Sheiskh Hebilay,a resident of Bihar,who now lives in Chanderlok on Rahon road,Suniat,also a native of Bihar who now lives of Sherpur Kalan and Surjit Kumar,a resident of Fauji Colony. The accused,as per the police,used to bring Ganja from Bihar and sell it t here at the Fauji colony. An FIR under the NDSP act has been registered against the accused.

Seminar held
Exchange-traded currency futures are used to hedge against the risk of rate volatilities in the foreign exchange markets. To create awarenesss,India’s New Stock Exchange MCX Stock Exchange (MCX-SX) organised a seminar on hedge against currency risk using currency futures at Hotel Baron with Ludhiana Chapter of Northern India Regional Chartered Accountants (NIRC). The seminar was attended by hedgers (i.e. exporters,importers,corporates,and banks),investors,and arbitrageurs. MCX Stock Exchange (MCX-SX),India’s New Stock Exchange,was launched in October 2008,under the regulatory framework of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The exchange received approval from SEBI and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and launched a platform for trading currency futures.
