To protest against the unbundling of Punjab State Education Board (PSEB),employees burnt an effigy of the board at the Aggar Nagar division office on Thursday. It has also been announced that a two-day strike will be observed in the entire state if the unbundling is gone ahead with. Swarn Singh,president of PSEB Employees Federation (INTUC),said,More problems will be posed for the consumers after PSEB is divided into parts. Outsourcing has already troubled consumers a lot as the private companies are not performing the duties properly.

Punjab Students Union stages dharna
The Punjab Students’ Union held a state-level demonstration at ITI Gill Road on Thursday to protest against the lathicharge on students in Moga and registration of a case against Gurmukh Singh Maan,president of the union,along with ten other students of ITI Moga.

Auctioned sugar to be lifted by April 15
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Tiwari has ordered that over 1 lakh quintal sugar which was auctioned on February 26 and 27 should be lifted by buyers by April 15 after paying the balance amount. Earlier,the high court had put a ban on the lifting of sugar. In case,buyers do not take the stock,the district magistrate can take action against the party concerned.

CIPHET signs MoU with poultry firm

Yoga camp on Apr 14
