Engineers angry with workload,plan state-level protest on Nov 22

Engineers working in Punjab State Power Corporation Limited and Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited walked out of their offices from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm on the call of their parent association body Punjab State Electricity Board Engineers’ Association.

Engineers working in Punjab State Power Corporation Limited and Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited walked out of their offices from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm on the call of their parent association body Punjab State Electricity Board Engineers’ Association (PSEBEA). This walk out was held to express their anguish over the negative attitude of the management towards important issues related to welfare of engineers. A protest rally was held by all engineers working under Central Zone,Ludhiana.

Secretary of Central Executive of PSEBEA,Jaswant Singh Zafar said that the posts of directors of management has been doubled due to unbundling of PSEB but the work load of engineers working in the field and secretariat has increased. Instead of creating new posts,additional charges have been given to engineers.

Central Executive member, Sikander Singh proposed that the management should take initiative by implementing decisions taken in a meeting held on Oct 22,in the chambers of the CM,Punjab.

A state-level protest has been planned for November 22 at the head office in Patiala.
