Punjab Bachao rath yatra to come to Ludhiana and Samrala on November 12

Congress leaders in Ludhiana are taking all measures to ensure large numbers in their Punjab Bachao rath yatra which will be coming to Ludhiana and Samrala on November 12.

A meeting held on Tuesday,in different constituencies of Ludhiana urban and rural areas, focused on arranging transport for workers so that they could reach the rally venue at Dana mandi near Gill Road without hassle.

‘Ensure massive turnout’,was the one line message to all the constituency heads of the Ludhiana unit by All India Congress Committee (AICC) member Jagmohan Singh Kang who chaired the meeting.

The leaders do not want to face the ire of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief, which the Congress leaders in Jalandhar faced, because of a poor show in the rally.

Kang said,“This rally will be a big success and turnout will not be a problem. All constituency leaders are arranging transport for the supporters who are willing to go,but have no means to reach the venue.”

When asked about the expected turnout,Kang said that he could not estimate the numbers but assured that it would be huge. “Apart from the councillors,ward-level workers and our women cell are on their toes to make this rally a big success,” he added.

Surinder Dawar, talking to Newsline, said,“We have enough support here,so it is nothing to do with the Jalandhar rally episode. From my constituency alone,100 vans and 400 cars have been arranged for the transport of workers, apart from the two wheelers. I will be arranging the transport at my own expenses,as will other leaders.”
