SGPC head interacts with Sikh leader

Ludhiana: SGPC head Avtar Singh Makkar on Saturday interacted with Kuldip Singh Dhami,veteran Sikh leader from Kenya and Jinder Singh,president of Sikh Supreme Council in Africa who were in city. The delegation infomed Makkar that around 10,000 Sikh families are living in Africa. The delegation also promised 50 acres land to SGPC in any city of Kenya for establishing an outsource centre under Guru Granth Sahib World University for African students interested to learn about Sikhism. Makkar said,discussions will be held with Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal in this regard and detailed proposal of project will be sent soon to Kenya delegation.

Guru Nanak student gets University rank

Ludhiana: A student of M.Sc (Physics) 4th semester of Guru Nanak Girls College,Model Town clinched University rank as per results declared by the Panjab University May,2013 Examinations on Friday. Harpreet Kaur secured 2nd position in Panjab University and 1st in college by securing 79.5 per cent marks.
