Body found dumped,identity not established

The body of an unidentified person said to be of around 35 years was found near Jugiana village near UCO Bank on Friday.

While the Ludhiana police has been unable to establish the identity of the body,the police claim that the victim was strangled to death.

On Friday late night,a passer-by informed the police who later sent the body to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Till the filing of this report,the body was lying unclaimed and no one contacted the hospital or the police.

Earlier,we thought it was a road accident but no vehicle was found. Strangulation with ropes is a possibility. We have registered an FIR under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC but the identity has still not been established which is delaying investigation about the accused, said Gurtej Singh from Focal Point police station.
