Blaze-busy: Factory gutted,car catches fire

A major fire broke out today at Kapila polyster factory located on Karabara road. It was a second fire incident to have occurred during the past five days.

A major fire broke out today at Kapila polyster factory located on Karabara road. It was a second fire incident to have occurred during the past five days. Earlier,fire had broken out on December 31 at a manufacturing unit reducing a huge stock of polyster cloth to ashes.

Today the fire started at about 8.20 a.m,and was brought under control in about four hours. The building of the factory came crumbling down because of the fire and the firemen had a close shave on the many occasions as the walls weekend by the fire started falling. However no one was injured in the mishap. There was no worker inside the factory when the incident occurred and hence no loss of life was reported,but the entire stock and machines were reduced to ashes.

In another incident,a Santro car being driven by a woman caught fire on Ferozepur road near Sidhwan canal bridge. She immediately came out of the car,but the car was completely burnt within no time. The car was run on domestic LPG cylinder which is being cited as reason behind the mishap.
