Yogi targets Priyanka: ‘Over 5,600 UP youth working in Israel, it wants to hire more’
Adityanath's remarks came while he was speaking on the issue of unemployment, which was raised by both SP as well as Congress MLAs during the ongoing winter session of the UP Assembly.

CHIEF MINISTER Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday targeted Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi for carrying a “Palestine bag” in Parliament and her claims that the Uttar Pradesh government sent youngsters to a “war zone” (in reference to Israel) for “employment”.
Adityanath’s remarks came while he was speaking on the issue of unemployment, which was raised by both SP as well as Congress MLAs during the ongoing winter session of the UP Assembly.
He countered the figures given by the Opposition leaders and also questioned the appointments under the UP Public Service Commission (UPPSC) during erstwhile Samajwadi Party government in UP.
“Kal Congress ki ek netri sansad mein ‘Palestine’ ka bag leke ghoom rahi thi. Aur hum UP ke naujawanon ko Israel bhej rahe hai. UP ke ab tak 5,600 se adhik naujawan Israel gaye hai nirman karya karne ke liye” (Yesterday, a Congress leader was in Parliament with a bag that had ‘Palestine’ written on it. Meanwhile, we are sending UP’s youths to Israel. So far, more than 5,600 youths have been sent to Israel for construction-related work,” said Adityanath.
He claimed that these youths are getting free food and accommodation and an additional `1.5 lakh, which they are sending to their families. He also claimed that these youths have “guarantee of safety” as well.
He informed the House that recently, a team of Israeli officials visited the state and expressed interest in hiring more young people from UP due to the “excellent work ethic and skills shown by them.”
“The world now recognises the strength of our youths’ skills. When they send back `1.5 lakh they earn, they contribute directly to the development of our state,” claimed Adityanath.
Adityanath’s statement on Priyanka’s bag drew a sharp reaction from the Congress, which hit out against the “personal attack.” Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra said later in the day, “Personal remarks against any woman are not expected from the Leader of the House. The Congress party has always stood for the betterment of the lives of the people and public welfare.”
Meanwhile, Adityanath claimed that his government has taken several steps for the welfare of youths in the state and urged the Opposition to find time to understand the policies and initiative of the government in this regard and implement it in their respective constituencies.
