Woman found dead at protection home

Two weeks ago,a police team traced Kori and sent her to the protection home.

Station House Officer of Bidhuna police station R K Singh said she had refused to go back to her parents. In the statement recorded before the magistrate,she had said that she would like to stay with Jaibardhan.

According to the SHO,the protection home had given an application before the CJM court in Auraiya stating that Kori finally wanted to return to her parents. She was to be produced before the CJM court on Tuesday.

Asked about the role of the protection home authorities,Etawah District Magistrate G S Priyadarshi said: “I have received the report about the girl’s suicide this evening. I will go through the details and will order a probe if required.”

A week ago,the police submitted a report before the court stating that the allegations levelled against Jaibardhan were found to be baseless.

The police report cited medical report and Kori’s statement in favour of Jaibardhan,since the legal formalities were yet to be completed,Jaibardhan was yet to be released from the jail and Kori was still staying at the protection home.

Four persons commit suicide in Kanpur

After being denied the permission for marriage,a couple jumped before a moving train near the Dada Nagar Jhansi railway crossing around 8.45 am. A cancer patient,Vipin Gupta (40),hanged himself from a tree near his Khandepur residence. After being scolded by his father,14-year-old Aditya Kumar hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his Vijay Nagar residence.
