Days after the reports that the tapes of his controversial speech were not doctored,BJP MP from Pilibhit Varun Gandhi on Wednesday landed in the state capital,where he met RSS regional pracharak Ashok Beri but avoided visiting the state BJP office.

After meeting Beri,Varun also visited the house of the slain former BJP minister Brahmdutt Dwivedi before leaving for Delhi.

During his meeting with Beri,the first-time MP is believed to have asked for support in the light of fresh developments in the case relating to his hate speech CD.

A few days ago,former RSS spokesperson M G Vaidya had said the BJP should give up Varun-style Hindutva.

Surrounded by mediapersons as he was coming out of Dwivedis residence,Varun was cautious. I do not want to say anything. I was here on a personal visit and will be leaving soon.

Varun was recently in the news when many of his partys senior leaders,during a meeting of the national executive,blamed his controversial speech for the saffron partys poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections,which they said drove away Muslim voters.
