In another embarrassment to the Mayawati government,the UP Lokayukta who is investigating allegations of land grab and anomalies in use of government funds against Small Scale Industries Minister Chandradev Ram Yadav,has found that the minister is also holding the position of the headmaster in a government-aided school.
A complaint was lodged by Indrasan Singh,a lawyer from Azamgarh,alleging that the minister was also holding the post of the headmaster of Kashi Madhyamik Vidyalaya at Hajipur village in Azamgarh district and even drawing salaries for teachers who were not employed with the school.
The minister was also accused of constructing a college,named Kashichandradev Ram Yadav Polytechnic College,in Bamhour by grabbing government land. Singh alleged that there were no students in the college but the minister was getting a large amount as aid from the government.
Azamgarh,confirming that the minister held the position of head master in Kashi Madhyamik Vidyalaya since December 2006.
The minister,through his lawyer,argued that the position of school headmaster does not fall in the category of the office of profit. The Lokayukta has rejected the argument and asked the minister to submit his reply by December 23.
The Lokayukta has also asked the Azamgarh district administration about the status of the land on which Yadav allegedly constructed his college,sources said.
