Tractor-trolley collides with truck,nine dead

Mainpuri SP Devendra Kumar Rai said the passengers,belonging to Etawah district’s Ajnera village,were returning after attending a tilak ceremony in Ferozabad district. They had reached Meethepur village when a truck hit the tractor,following which the trolley overturned.

While the erring truck driver fled,seven occupants of the tractor-trolley,including the driver,died on the spot.

The injured were rushed to the district hospital where two others were declared dead on arrival. Twenty critically injured passengers have been referred to the PGI at Etawah’s Saifai,where three are battling for life.

Those who suffered minor injuries were sent home after primary medication.

About half-a-dozen minors were injured,said Rai.
